Description:

Attention!!! Please don't use the comment section to report issues. Use our issue tracker, because it is used to track issues ;-).

Real-time chat app for ownCloud with OTR, SMP and video calls (WebRTC). This app requires external XMPP server (openfire, ejabberd etc.). Starting from 3.0 we are shipping an experimental (not all features yet, maybe not stable) XMPP server written in PHP.

To use this chat you need the same password in ownCloud and XMPP.

e.g. OC: klaus or klaus@example.org
XMPP: klaus@example.org

You get a free TURN account for video calls at http://numb.viagenie.ca

Installation manual: https://github.com/sualko/jsxc/wiki/Install-ojsxc-(owncloud)

For more information please visit http://www.jsxc.org.

After you enabled and configured the app in the admin panel, you should see a small gray border on the right side of your window. Now you have two opportunities to start: Click on the gray border or log off and log in again.

Anyone tried running this with a Prosody XMPP server?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosody_%28software%29

Prosody is a lightweight XMPP server that is very easy to use.

miradata e.K.

It finally works! I tested
- call between Firefoxes and Chromium (and across)
- use desktop PCs (Linux) and Lenovo Tablet (Android) - which is pretty cool - try that with e.g. Openmeetings (flash). Could work for Apple Followers as well :-) (not tested yet)
- via lan and G3

cool! Thank you - this app turns OC into a real plattform for online colab!

Cannot get this to work. At all.

I tried forever to make this work with my owncloud. I tried using prosody and ejabberd and neither worked. The issue is that I cannot get apache to proxy the http-bind port over to myserver/http-bind/. I have tried just about everything.

Does this have to do with the fact that my owncloud server is set to enforce https? I tried the bosh https port too, and that 404'd as well so I'm not sure.

I finally got https::/localhost/http-bind to be accessible, but owncloud is refusing to accept it.

I use Openfire personally and it works for me. What I did was in my apache site config i added the proxy lines:
ProxyPass /http-bind/ http://client.network.com:7070/http-bind/

ProxyPassReverse /http-bind/ http://client.network.com:7070/http-bind/

then in my owncloud admin console I use the following settings:
Bosh URL: /http-bind/
XMPP Domain: network.com
XMPP resource: OWNCloud

Your server must be configured to have BOSH listen on port 7070, which should be default and you must allow that port through your firewall on both systems (obviously)

Really hope this helps!!! Took me forever to get this figured out, but now it works like a charm.

Side note* openfire 3.10 gave me problems with bosh so i rolled back to 3.9.3, there is now a 3.10.2 so hopefully that works better. Not sure about ejabberd or any other servers.
