 Manual Installation?

Why do you have to install this manually? The usual way to install an ownCloud app is simply to enable it in the apps section. ownCloud will download and extract it by itself, if the package has the right format...

The package has the right format and this extension works fine for me. The reason for not appearing in the "Apps"-Section of owncloud is, that this Extension is not yet approved by the approval team. I can't remember that this was done within the last weeks for any extension. Maybe they are so busy?? But, in fact it is a security issue, because the admins should get familiar how to use a secure, built-in Repository. Now everyone does a manual install/upgrade by downloading a ZIP file with the Browser or wget.

By the way ... is there a possibility to add mkv support?

 css not found

A strange thing: the very first message after clicking a video is:
[13:50:16.562] Specified "type" attribute of "video/mp4" is not supported. Load of media resource /owncloud/index.php/apps/files/ajax/download.php?files=VIDEO.mp4&dir=%2FoldDropboxFiles failed.
[13:50:16.562] All candidate resources failed to load. Media load paused.

After clicking into the empty video frame the video starts, but without any control buttons and such.

Then I get following Error in Browser (Firefox 24):

[13:50:16.689] GET https://xxx.myserver.de/owncloud/apps/files_videosPlayer/videojs/src/video-js.css [HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found 11ms]

The file is at the correct location and readable. The video.js file in the same folder works without problems.

Later on, I GET https://xxx.myserver.de/owncloud/index.php/apps/my_video_poster.png [HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found 88ms]
fails.

Next message is probably not caused by this app:
[13:50:16.658] SyntaxError: Using //@ to indicate source map URL pragmas is deprecated. Use //# instead @ https://xxx.myserver.de/owncloud/remote.php/core.js?v=74b4d273507a7e0eba857955bd45b2cf:132

 Wont work under Safari

by berlinhimmel on: Feb 4 2014

For any strange reason this tool will not work under Safari (OS X). I try to open the videos on my cloud in Firefox and they start to play in a second, but Safari will show me a endless loading symbol and nothing more. I have also try to point Safari to video.js, where is the source for the player in this plugin... And on this page I got no problems with Safari.

If anyone has an idea how to fix this, let me know pls.

 ownCloud video player

ownCloud 9 (the most recent release) includes a new kick-ass video player by default. The source code and issue tracker are at https://github.com/owncloud/files_videoplayer

Since that one is in every ownCloud installation, it would be great to collaborate on it together! :)
