 Update --- Recommendations

So I have been playing with this for the last day and I really like the potential of this app. In its current design its very limited in terms of what it can do, but with some enhancements this could be a really useful app. Some recommendations I would like to make include:

1) Toolbar with useful tools (see below)

2) Add an eraser so mistakes on a sketch can be removed.

3) Add color options. Current it only has black.

4) Ability to add text (bold, Underline, Italics, size, colors…)

5) Ability to save as a pdf or image file

6) Tablet support. It currently works on Tablets, but it won’t let you draw anything (the pointer disappears) you can add dot’s though…

7) Import images and sketch on top of them using the above tools/options…

8) Ability to share the master sketch with a group or person for collaboration sketching/editing…

This is a start, and not sure if any of it is possible but thought I would share some ideas on how to make it more useful.

Thanks,

Jathor9000

Thanks a lot for your feedback!
While I already added some of the features you listed to the GitHub issue tracker (https://github.com/ChristophWurst/sketch), the goal of this app is not to build a full-featured graphics editor. Hence, I don't plan to integrate such advanced features like adding text or images at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully some of the requests make it through; I understand you don’t want this to become a full feature editor. However, the suggested features just give it more usability in a practical manner, the way it is now offers little reason to use it other than to doodle. This app could offer some very practical uses for many people/companies; I for one would use the hell out of it and so would my end-users.

Either way; I thought you made a great first start on something with much potential.

Maybe I'm missing it, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to share a sketch. If there was, I would find a lot of uses for this app. Doesn't need to be a full-fledged editor, but slightly more functionality would go a long way.

Thanks for your effort!

You're right. That's not possible in the current version of this app. However, I have planned to integrate that: https://github.com/ChristophWurst/sketch/issues/11

Would like to try it out, but on my owncloud install Sketch just shows a blank page? Am I missing some pre-requisites? Thanks

Hi,

may I ask you to open a new issue at https://github.com/ChristophWurst/sketch/issues ? Please provide information about the ownCloud version and browser you use. Is there any error in the browser console or the ownCloud/webserver log? Thanks.

There aren't any prerequisites as long as you use the packaged version of the app store.
