 Doesn't work with 8.2.2

It doesn't work with 8.2.2 release. I'm on archlinux with Apache 2.4.18 with PHP 7.0.2. When Clicking on *.tex file opens download menu. There is no option to edit or compile chosen file. Could you fix it out?

I guess this project is unfortunately rather dead. I cloned it to https://github.com/Aypac/Owncloud-LatexTex-Editor-and-Compiler and would love to get this working again. Unfortunately I did not have time yet. Please contact me via GITHUB if you want to help with the development.

Why didn't you use version for OC 8.0.0? You can find it on page 3 of this thread in the darksniper94's answer. It looks more promising for further developing.

Okay, I just realized there was and original repo. To create a proper line of credit I removed the old repo and cloned the original one. It can be found here:

Hi aypac,

Great job with the github repo!
I'm on it to fix the problem.

PS. To enable owncloud open a .tex file again, you have to change the apps/files_texteditor/js/editor.js .
Add 'application/x-tex' to the Array in function registerFileActions an it will work again.

Thanks darksniper,

I did that - and it'll set the default action for .tex files to edit. Still, it will not make the compile button appear. And besides is there any more elegant option to do this? I mean it's not very good flavour to edit another app to make this work, is it? By the way, could you figure what the editor.js in the files_latexeditor/js folder is for? From the comments I guess it is to resolve the dependency from files_texteditor?

Hi,

Yes I know... it was very quick and dirty.
By the way i figured out how the files_latexeditor/latexeditor.js works.
I modified it, so now it register the .tex files for the normal texteditor to open without chaning its code.
It also add the 'LaTeX' Button to the editor an opens the dialog.
Furthermore compiling works again! And the script manage it to write the new file to ownclouds filesystem but here is a new problem:
Owncloud does not recognize, that the file have been changed even if I delete the old PDF file and compile a new one. The file is placed on the servers filesystem, but owncloud does not "see" it.

Also the PDF View call should be fixed.
I'll upload my changes later to github.

Best regards

darksniper

Can you add more screenshots? I can't figure out how should I open the latex file. I did the following:
1. enabled latex editor plugin via ownCloud web interface
2. deleted old files in plugin dir and cloned new ones from https://github.com/Aypac/files_latexeditor to owncloud plugin dir, changed permissions, etc.
3. tried to click on test.tex file, but got only download dialog.
What I did wrong?

 New ALPHA Version Released

 by darksniper94 on: Mar 11 2016

Score 50%

Hello everybody,

I finished new alpha version 1.3.
It works on OwnCloud 8.2.2

This version can:
- open latex files
- compile latex files and save PDFs
- preview the latex files

This version can NOT:
- update owncloud filecache to view the compiled pdf file.
Currently I tried to update the filecache via JS call of "scanFiles(true, '/path/to/latex/files')" but it does not update the filecache.
If anybody have an idea, how to manage the filesystem update, please let me know.

Have fun!

Thanks for your upload. Works great outofthebox with my configurations.

Device: Rapberry Pi B+
OS: Raspbian Jessie
Webserver: Apache 2.4
Owncloud: 9.0.2

Great would be a option to save it in the current directory without downloading and uploading again.
