I'm not so enthusiatic about this

To be honest, i see no sense in an apps store that offers alpha software that doesn't work (8.1), has no support, with no intentions to even fix bugs, and the author frankly declares that "at the moment, i don't have time and intentions to continue development of this package".

Is this a joke? GitHub is the right place for developing and forking, but not the app store for a mature and stable project, that offers such great apps like Calendar Plus, Tasks Plus, Gallery and many other awsome apps.

I think at the longer term such experiments could even damage the reputation of this great project that is so nicely growing and flourishing.

miradata e.K.

How would we otherwise know that it is there? As long it is clearly marked as "Alpha" I see no problem. Maybe someone is willing to jump the bandwagon...

Just a suggestion: what about providing separate categories for unstable, alpha, beta apps, and stable apps?

This one is not only alpha, but it's also totally unsupported and even discontinued, and this fact is only stated at GitHub.

IMO a mixture of apps of completely different states is not very helpful for ownCloud's app store. It may be a matter of opinion, but for me, if you really want to keep a complete list of apps, it should at least be filterable (multiple checkbox selection): by supported core version, by category, by state, and sortable by alphabeth or time added.

Hmm. I think as it says in the title or description that this is a beta or preview release then this should be fine IMHO.
If you don't publish it here then the developer doesn't get any useful feedback.

It seems i have misunderstood the concept of the ownCloud apps pages, and this is a more developer related platform rather than an apps store for users. When a developer publishes an app at alpha state together with the notice "i don't have time and intentions to continue development of this package", this app is obviously not intended for users, but exclusively for developers.
